Phil Bloom recently posted this article which asked 7 editors why they chose to use FCPX. It's a great article, not for converting CS5 users but to try and start showing editors that FCPX is not the complete write-off it was being billed as. Personally i've been using CS5 for the last 6 months but with the most recent update I see myself going back to FCPX

It's nice to see a RED tutorial from a DSLR user like Dave. I dont see the point in using a Scarlet for my short films or corporate work, usually i need to shoot gorilla, work quickly and cheap and the finished film won't have much of a life on the big screen. That said i would never use a DSLR for feature work, the RED is an incredible camera for the cinema. Best combo as i see it is to own a DSLR for small projests and, should you ever find yourself with a decent budget for a feature, hire RED and pay for an AD and AC.

Phil Bloom hosted these videos on his site a little while ago but if you missed them they're a nice little intro to lighting for DSLRS

I've been using FCPX since it came out and i love it, but i haven't been using it for big projects as it's been a little buggy. Hopefully this new update will help with that. Among other things it comes with support for external monitors, editable photoshop layers and mutlicam editing, but most excting are the plug-ins such as 7toX, i havent tried it yet but apparently you'll be able to update FCP7 timelines. Time to have a play

I'm excited that this camera exists but i'm not interested in buying one, too expensive and i think they'll get a lot of feedback before the next model comes out. I also hope this is the first of a fleet of cinema range EOS cameras and that one of them will sell for less that 5k
Great video though, worth 15 mins of your time
